This is a softer, slower rod for throwing dry flies with a subtle presentation. The soft action enables use of very small leaders and tippet. This is an excellent stream rod where you want shorter, quiet casts. The Finesse has the feel of the old fiberglass rods, but is much lighter and more sensitive. This is an excellent rod for less experienced casters as the slow action will allow you to feel the rod load.

With a slower action, this 1 weight rod makes a softer and quieter presentation than a 2 weight. Great for short distance casting. Will make 4" Golden Trout into a 15 incher. We love this rod for Blue Gill.
