If you like fast rods, the TiCrX is the rod for you. The 'X' stands for 'extra fast'... and it is. I fish this rod with one size over on line weight, for example RIO Grand 5wt (which casts like a 5.7 weight), on a TiCrX 5 weight rod. This rod only bends at the tip, so it casts like a rocket, even in the most windy conditions. Previously, fast action rods had tips so stiff that we had to run heavier tippets to prevent fish from breaking off. The TFO TiCrX has a soft tip, so we can use lighter tippets, for better fly presentation.
This TiCrX 10 weight fly rod is an excellent rod for light to medium saltwater: Bones fish, Permit, Snook, light Tarpon.
